What Time of Year Can I Charter?

At The Boat Club, based in Poole Harbour, our primary focus is the exhilarating summer season. This peak period, when the bay welcomes a flurry of yachts, stretches from April to October. It’s the perfect time to embark on memorable adventures along stunning coastlines and explore vibrant destinations. We have a Day Boat or Yacht fit for every occasion!

How long is a charter?

Our charter days typically extend from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. However, if you’d prefer to start your day a bit earlier or later, we can accommodate your request. Please note that, on certain occasions, navigational restrictions such as tides may require us to adjust your start and finish times or location.

How Do I Pick a Day Boat or Yacht?

At The Boat Club we specialise in charters that cater to your unique needs. Our charter specialists will work closely with you to determine the ideal day boat or yacht for your summer getaway, taking into account your budget, the number of guests, and the activities you wish to enjoy.

After a casual conversation to understand your preferences and aspirations for the charter, we will curate a personalised shortlist of boats and yachts for you to explore. Whether you’re looking to relax in the sun, entertain the family with exciting water toys, or arrive in style at a waterside restaurant, our dedicated team is here to help you select the perfect yacht for an unforgettable experience.

How Many People Can Come?

The Boat Clubs fleet offers a selection of day boats and yachts with capacities of up to 12 persons. Our range includes options from 24ft to over 70ft. While most of our fleet accommodate up to 8 guests, we also have larger options available for groups of 12 with the option to charter multiple boats at a time if you have a larger party. Whether you’re escaping as a couple, with friends, or as part of a multi-generational family, our diverse offerings make yacht charter the perfect choice.

What Can I Do on Board?

With The Boat Club Charters, the fun starts the moment you step aboard one of our day boats or yachts! Our charter specialists will help you plan an enjoyable itinerary, which may include arranging a priory hotel picnic or making restaurant reservations that suit your group’s preferences.

Onboard, you can soak up the sun and enjoy socialising in comfortable seating areas. Many of our day boats are equipped with amenities like Bluetooth speakers for your favourite music and space for picnics or snacks. If you’re traveling with family, you can request a selection of water toys, perfect for keeping the kids entertained. Whether you’re looking to relax or have an adventure on the water, we’re here to help create a memorable day on the boat!

Food and Beverages

Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea options are available with menus to suit all dietary requirements and preferences. Meals can be served onboard or ashore at one of our luxury partner hotels and popular dining destinations.

Should I Tip the Crew?

If you feel that you have received exceptional service during your time on board, you may choose to leave a gratuity for your crew. While tipping is entirely at your discretion, the customary rate is typically 10-15% of the charter fee.

Weather Guarantee

We understand that the British weather can sometimes be unpredictable, but that’s all part of the charm of boating with us! If the weather forecast looks unsuitable for your planned charter, we offer an alternative date or a revised itinerary to ensure you make the most of your time on the water.

Our experienced captain will closely monitor the weather conditions and adjust your itinerary to ensure that you enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable charter. In the event of bad weather, we may choose to:

Postpone your charter to a more favourable date

Alter your itinerary to take advantage of calmer waters or more sheltered areas

Recommend a different boat that is better suited to the weather conditions.

Is There a Minimum Age for Guests at The Boat Club Charters?

No, there is no minimum age requirement for guests. In fact, yacht charters are a fantastic option for a family occasion. If you’re planning to bring small children on board, let your Boat Club charter specialist know and they can recommend yachts with features such as cabins, child safe cockpits or interior television facilities!

Can I Wear Shoes?

Most of our day boats and yachts require that shoes be removed on board when you are inside to look after our beautiful carpets. However, we do permit the use of clean boat shoes and insist on clean non marking shoes to be worn on deck.

Do I need to bring anything?

available upon request, we advise you bring along warm and dry clothing along with your own swim wear and towels, suncream and a cap are often advisories to fully enjoy your day on the water.

How far in advance should I book my Charter?

For peak seasons such as school holidays, as well as if there’s a specific yacht you’re interested in, we recommend booking 6 to 10 weeks in advance to secure the best options. For other times of the year, it’s advisable to consult with your charter specialist about 3-6 weeks prior to your desired date.
